TCA’ s New Certification Mark

The current Australian requirements for Declared Articles are:

Mandatory certification through various state regulators
No inspection of manufacturing facilities
Certificate valid for 5 years
Occasional market surveillance
Marking, for example N12345 required on product

In addition to these regulations, TCA has introduced a new voluntary product certification scheme designed to offer, only those of our clients who pass our selection criteria, the following benefits:

Independent third party testing and certification by TCA
Manufacturing facilities audited annually to meet safety and quality standards
Promotion to retailers and consumers through the display of our certification mark on your products, packaging, manual etc

TCA Certificate of Conformance:

This is what TCA’s Certification Mark means to you:

An easy way to identify the safety and quality of your product against your competitors
Ensures that your product complies with specified standards, having been independently tested
Confirms your production facility is monitored to meet consistent manufacturing practice.

Certified Products, such as:

kitchen appliances and heating appliances
power tools
power supplies and plug-in adaptors
washing machines
refrigerators and freezer
air-conditioners
colour TV’s … and more

will be able to display one of our Certification Marks below:

You even have the opportunity to identify your products as being certified for selected features such as safety, EMC, performance.

Certified Components, such as:

Plugs
Power cables
Sockets
Wall switches … and more

will be able to display our special smaller size TCA certification Mark:

Note: Certification scheme available for non declared articles

Certification Fees:

One off: Setup fee $AU400.00 / Applicant with one Manufacturing Facility

Yearly: Licence Fee (1 Unit = $AU100.00)
Household: 12 Units
Whitegoods, TV's: 16 Units
Plug-in adaptors: 10 Units
Plugs, cords, switches: 6 Units

Yearly: Factory Inspection
- Inspection $AU1500.00
- Travel expenses
